How to make a fake iMessage screenshot

Making a believable iMessage screenshot used to mean texting yourself and cropping the result. It is faster to build one in the browser, where you control both sides of the chat and the whole phone.

1. Write the chat

Add each line and mark it sent or received. Sent lines can be blue iMessage or green SMS. Received lines stay gray, the same as a real iPhone.

Keep the writing natural. Short lines, a clear back-and-forth, and a believable last message read better than a wall of text.

2. Match the phone

Set the contact name and photo, the time, and the battery. Pick the iPhone model so the status bar matches, and choose light or dark.

A read receipt or the typing dots add a final touch of realism when the moment calls for it.

3. Download

Export a PNG or JPG at up to three times the device resolution, the same as a real screenshot. That is the file you share.
